It is getting more and more difficult these days to be unique. The problem is that there are more and more people on the planet and everything is mass produced so statistically speaking, being unique will someday be an impossibility. Not quite, every industry that produces a product that can be worn, carried, or driven have caught onto this fact and allow personalization of different levels. Custom design jewelry is no different.
Everyone has their preferences when it comes to jewelry. Myself for instance, am not a big fan of gold. It’s just a bit gaudy for my tastes. I prefer white gold, silver, or platinum if I could afford it. In any case, I would not have my current wedding ring had it not been for the option of customization.
My ring is a rather simple design, it has a hammered look in the center of the band and smooth edges.
The display ring had gold for the hammered center and white gold on the edges. I really liked the design, but I was about to pass it up because the amount of yellow gold was a put off. Luckily the sales person overheard my offhand comment to my to be wife that I wished the colors were reversed. The sales person said, “we can do that.” Needless to say, I ended up getting that ring. I’m sure I would have found something else that I liked, but I’m really glad that the store I went to offered custom design jewelry so I could get my perfect wedding ring.
